On September 5, 2024, Great Atlantic Resources Corp. announced the commencement of a diamond drilling program by its subsidiary, Golden Promise Mines Inc., at the Golden Promise Gold Property in central Newfoundland. The drill contract has been awarded to MCL Drilling from Deer Lake, NL. The fully funded program will consist of up to nine drill holes and an estimated total of 900 meters, focusing on the gold-bearing Jaclyn Main Zone (JMZ) where a bulk sample is planned.
The drilling program, conducted in partnership with Novamera Inc., will utilize Novamera’s proprietary Guidance Technology to enhance data collection and resource knowledge for defining vein shape, geometry, and continuity. The objective of the program is to further delineate gold-bearing quartz veins within the JMZ for bulk sample extraction, targeting depths of up to 100 meters.
High-grade gold in quartz veins was confirmed in the west region of the JMZ during previous drilling programs in 2019 and 2021, with intercepts of 113.07 grams/tonne (g/t) gold over 0.55 meters and 61.35 g/t gold over 2.04 meters. The upcoming bulk sample extraction will utilize Novamera’s Surgical Mining technologies to reduce costs.
Funded in part by DIGITAL, a Canadian innovation cluster for digital technologies, the 2024 diamond drilling and bulk sample program is part of a larger project supporting data-driven and digital solutions in the mining sector. Great Atlantic Resources Corp. is a Canadian exploration company focused on mineral assets in Atlantic Canada, emphasizing elements like gold, copper, zinc, and more. Although forward-looking statements have been made in this press release, actual results may vary depending on various factors.
