Vancouver, British Columbia–(September 9, 2024) – An announcement has been made by CaNickel Mining Limited (TSXV: CML) (“CaNickel” or the “Company”) regarding a change in auditors from Smythe LLP (Former Auditor) to Baker Tilly WM LLP (Successor Auditor). The Former Auditor voluntarily resigned as the auditor of the Company, effective September 5, 2024, and the board of directors appointed the Successor Auditor as the Company’s auditor, also effective September 5, 2024, until the next Annual General Meeting.
During the relevant period, there were no reservations in the Former Auditor’s audit reports, which covered the financial year ending December 31, 2023, and any subsequent periods. In compliance with National Instrument 51-102 – Continuous Disclosure Obligations (NI 51-102), the Company has filed a Change of Auditor Notice on September 9, 2024, along with letters from both the Former Auditor and Successor Auditor, confirming agreement with the statements in the Notices. No reportable events, as defined in NI 51-102, occurred between the Former Auditor and the Company.
CaNickel Mining Limited is a Canadian junior mining company that owns the Bucko Lake Mine, currently on care and maintenance near Wabowden, Manitoba. The mine produced 6.9 million pounds of nickel from nearly 450,000 tonnes of mineralized material between 2009 and 2012, before being put on care and maintenance due to low nickel prices.
