VANCOUVER, BC, Aug. 22, 2024 – Aris Mining Corporation (Aris Mining or the Company) (TSX: ARIS) (NYSE-A: ARMN) has announced the publication of its 2023 Sustainability Report, which was prepared following the guidelines of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) for the metals and mining industry.

Neil Woodyer, CEO of Aris Mining, expressed satisfaction with the release of Aris Mining’s 2023 Sustainability Report. The report highlights the Company’s significant progress in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives in 2023, demonstrating adherence to industry best practices for the benefit of stakeholders. The report specifically emphasizes the Contract Mining Partners (CMP) program, responsible for over 40% of the current gold production and deemed crucial to operations in Colombia.

The CMP program fosters a shared value initiative that not only ensures profitability for both parties but also addresses the environmental and social challenges associated with informal and illegal mining in Colombia. By formalizing over 3,000 miners to date and planning to formalize an additional 500 to 1,000 miners in 2024, Aris Mining is promoting responsible, safety-focused mining practices that align with government policies, drive economic development, and enhance social cohesion in the regions of operation while prioritizing environmental sustainability. These partnerships are seen as the future of mining in Colombia and offer sustainable solutions to the issues associated with informal and illegal mining.

Some highlights of the 2023 Sustainability Report include the establishment of a Management Sustainability Committee, participation in SASB Standards and Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) protocols, membership in the United Nations Global Compact, and various investments in environmental and social projects. These efforts align with the Company’s commitment to ESG performance standards and its dedication to creating shared value in the communities where it operates.
