On August 21, 2024, Volt Carbon Technologies Inc. announced the successful synthesis of diamonds from dry separated natural flake graphite at their Scarborough, Ontario Facility.

Through a process using high pressure-high temperature (HPHT) method, Volt Carbon produced synthetic diamonds from a graphite concentrate blend, specifically designed for diamond synthesis. The Berkeley Deposit’s -30+50 mesh natural flake graphite was utilized to create near-gemstone-quality crystals ranging from 2 to 5 carats.

Volt Carbon’s dry separation techniques retained the necessary natural catalyst materials for graphite-to-diamond conversion in the HPHT reaction chamber. Results showed that their graphite materials performed equally well, if not better, compared to competitor graphite materials processed through flotation and chemical separation. Third-party validation confirmed the effectiveness of Volt Carbon’s processed graphite for synthetic diamond production.

The unique high graphitic structure and low oxidation characteristics of Volt Carbon’s graphite enabled diamond synthesis at temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius lower than standard commercially available flake graphite concentrate. This has the potential to reduce energy costs and carbon footprint.

Moving forward, Volt Carbon plans to further develop diamond synthesis for applications in semiconductor and medical industries. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to leveraging their low-oxidation graphite concentrate and delivering high-value products with tangible carbon offsets across various sectors.

V-Bond Lee, CEO and President of Volt Carbon Technologies Inc., expressed excitement about the material’s possibilities and confirmed plans for its availability in their online store next month.

Volt Carbon Technologies Inc. is a publicly traded carbon science company with interests in energy storage and green energy creation, holding mining claims in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. For more information, visit their website at www.voltcarbontech.com.

The press release also includes forward-looking statements about Volt Carbon’s business and operations, highlighting their achievements in diamond synthesis and plans for future development. It emphasizes the potential of Volt Carbon’s modified flake graphite concentrate for various applications.
