Spark Power Group’s solar O&M business, listed on the TSX as SPG, has recently entered into a long-term agreement with 174 Power Global for the Rayos Del Sol Solar project located in Texas. Rayos Del Sol Solar project is owned by 174 Power Global, a subsidiary of the Hanwha Group, a prominent leader in solar and energy storage project developments.
According to the agreement, Spark Power will provide comprehensive operational and maintenance support to the Rayos Del Sol Solar project. Richard Jackson, President, and CEO of Spark Power expressed his excitement about the partnership and the opportunity to work with Rayos and the Cameron County community in Texas.
With a focus on providing clean and sustainable energy to Texas, Spark Power is committed to delivering industry-leading facility management, asset operation, and maintenance services. The company, based in Ontario, specializes in maintenance programs to ensure asset fulfillment, troubleshooting, emergency response, and quality assurance.
Taylor Williamson, Director of Operations, Solar at Spark Power, emphasized the exciting opportunity to collaborate with 174 Power Global on this project. The Rayos Del Sol Solar project is expected to have a capacity to generate 180 megawatts of electricity, which is equivalent to powering more than 34,000 homes with green energy.
Henry Yun, CEO, and President of 174 Power Global, highlighted the significance of the agreement with Spark Power in supporting the energy transition and renewable energy goals in Texas. The partnership with Spark Power will allow the team to focus on maximizing the value of the Rayos Del Sol Solar Project and supporting the community in Cameron County.
Additionally, the electricity and renewable energy certificates produced from the Rayos Del Sol Solar project will be sold to Constellation, the largest producer of clean energy in America. Constellation currently supplies clean energy to commercial manufacturers like Kimberly-Clark, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Manheim, contributing to 10% of the US’ carbon-free energy production.
