The company, known for its expertise in smart buildings and cities utilizing IoT, cloud, and SaaS technology, was selected through a competitive bidding process.
Although the specific municipality has not been named, Kontrol has revealed that it currently manages hundreds of buildings and is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030. CEO Paul Ghezzi expressed the significance of winning this contract and sees it as a validation of the company’s capabilities.
Kontrol, based in Canada, offers solutions to enhance energy management, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and promote sustainability in buildings. Winning this contract marks a key milestone in the company’s efforts to expand its net zero emission solutions globally.
The company’s subsidiary has developed the Kontrol Carbon platform, which supports various stages of carbon emission reduction projects, including design, feasibility, implementation, and potential carbon credit monetization. Mr. Ghezzi views the contract with the Ontario municipality as a step towards further advancing the platform.
Given the increasing global focus on achieving net zero emissions by 2050, the International Energy Agency projects a need for significant investment in clean energy solutions.
