Vancouver, British Columbia–(Newsfile Corp. – August 22, 2024) – Ximen Mining Corp. (TSXV: XIM) (FSE: 1XM) (OTC Pink: XXMMF), a mining company, announces the commencement of its 2024 drill program at the Brett epithermal gold project near Vernon in southern BC. The company has successfully mobilized crews and equipment, including a diamond drill, D6 Cat, Hitachi excavator, and ancillary pumps and hoses to the Brett property, where a temporary camp has been established. Access trails have been re-opened, and fieldwork activities such as prospecting and surveying are already in progress.
The drill program aims to extend the Main Zone mineralized zone at Brett to the southeast and at depth, as well as test for extensions to the New Discovery Zone. Various parameters, including gold soil anomalies, pathfinder element soil anomalies, resistivity, magnetic anomalies, and more were used to design and rank drill holes. The first drill hole will confirm results of historic holes on the Main Zone and test a western zone of anomalous gold.
The Brett project, covering 20,043 hectares, hosts low-sulfidation epithermal-style gold mineralization in Eocene Penticton Group volcanic rocks. Following the discovery of gold mineralization in 1983, Ximen had conducted LiDAR and airborne magnetic surveys in 2022 to prepare for the 2024 drilling program.
