Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. is pleased to announce the successful completion of its inaugural drill program at the Chuchi copper-gold project. Copper mineralization was encountered in every drill hole over a 750 m strike length across the BP Zone. The Company believes that the BPZ has potential for further expansion of alkalic porphyry copper mineralization along strike and at depth.
The drill program, consisting of five diamond drill holes totaling 2,716 m, intersected alkalic porphyry copper mineralization comprising of chalcopyrite and pyrite hosted in breccias, veins, and as disseminated mineral replacements. The results will be released upon receipt and compilation of assays.
Chuchi, located 35 km northwest of Centerra Gold Inc.’s Mount Milligan mine in B.C., is a road-accessible project with several porphyry targets within a six-kilometer north-northwest trend. The Company’s President and CEO expressed optimism about the untapped potential of the BP Zone for porphyry copper-gold mineralization, especially considering the historical shallow drilling conducted decades ago.
The 2024 drill program was designed to test the theory that BPZ mineralization forms a tabular-shaped body with northeast-trending structural control and is deep-rooted. The results from the program indicate sulfide mineralization following a northeast trending corridor centered on the North Central fault zone. Brecciated and altered lithological contact zones around the monzodiorite porphyry complex also showed enhanced mineralization.
The historical drill highlights provided in Table 1 showcase the copper and gold grades from previous drilling at Chuchi, validating the presence of mineralization in the area. The Chuchi project covers three mineral tenure blocks and has seen minimal historical drilling to date, making it an attractive exploration target for Pacific Ridge.
Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. aims to become a leading copper-gold exploration company in British Columbia. Alongside its Kliyul flagship asset, the company holds several other projects in the region, including Chuchi, RDP, Onjo, and Redton. The projects are strategically located in traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of Indigenous Nations.
